Professional Welding Guidelines

Invar 36 / 4J36 precision tubing has strict chemical sensitivity during welding. Uncontrolled welding heat input and mismatched filler materials will alter alloy composition, resulting in increased thermal expansion coefficient and reduced precision stability.


Available welding methods include oxyacetylene welding, electric arc welding and argon arc welding. TIG argon arc welding is strongly recommended for precision tube assembly. To minimize weld porosity and micro-cracks, the filler metal should contain 0.5%每1.5% titanium. Low-current and fast welding procedures are adopted to control grain growth and preserve the alloy*s original low-expansion characteristics.
