Nimonic PE16
Description:
Alloy PE16 is a precipitation-hardenable nickel-iron-chromium alloy with an addition of molybdenum for solid-solution strengthening. PE16 has good strength and oxidation resistance at temperature to about 1380oF (750oC). Alloy PE16 is designed to provide a precipitation-hardened material having excellent hot-working, cold-working and welding characteristics. PE16 is commonly used in gas-turbines components and in nuclear reactors.
Alloy PE16 was developed for service in the temperature range of 500 – 750°C and combines the superior strength of the age hardening nickel base alloys with superb ease of fabrication. It also has excellent hot and cold working characteristics.
