Stainless steel round bar
Stainless steel round bars have the widest range of grades and sizes available. They are used in many fields, in particular automobiles, ships, aircraft, various types of precision components, industrial machines, household information equipment, and construction and civil engineering. Furthermore, because of their high durability lately their uses have been increasingly expanding to semiconductors, nuclear power and chemical plants. Small and large volume production, quick delivery, and "forward arrangements" are also available.
Peeling (PM) - Stainless steel round bar
Mill scales on the surface have been cut after hot rolling. The surface has a glossy finish.
This bar is traded at high volume, and has extensive general uses.
Generally produced with a positive tolerance (-0).
Pickling (SD) - Stainless steel round bar
Pickling has been applied to remove mill scales after hot rolling. The surface has a dull white finish.
Generally produced with both positive and negative tolerances.
Drawing (CD, finished) - Stainless steel round bar
CD stands for "cold drawing." The material has been drawn through a steel die without being heated. The surface has a glossy finish. Achieves better dimensional accuracy than with peeling or pickling.
Generally of Class h9 tolerance.
Grinding (CG) round bar - Stainless steel round bar
CG stands for "center-less grinding." This method grinds the material by passing it between two rotating grinding stones. These bars are used when better size, surface roughness, and roundness accuracy is required than found with general drawn products. They cost more than drawn products.
Generally of Class h7 tolerance.
