Material Overview of MP35N UNS R30035

MP35N® is a non‑magnetic nickel‑cobalt‑chromium‑molybdenum alloy, famous for achieving tensile strength up to 300 ksi (2068 MPa) via work hardening, phase transformation and aging heat treatment. It offers outstanding resistance to hydrogen sulphide, saltwater and chloride‑rich solutions, as well as excellent resistance to crevice corrosion and stress‑corrosion cracking under seawater and aggressive sour‑gas operating environments, complying with NACE MR0175 requirements for sour‑well service. For fully work‑hardened MP35N components, the recommended maximum service temperature reaches 750 ∼F (399 ∼C).

To achieve premium material purity, MP35N is manufactured by vacuum induction melting (VIM), followed by vacuum arc remelting (VAR). This double‑vacuum melting route minimizes residual impurities and inclusions, critical for high‑fatigue‑life parts used in medical implants and down‑hole oil‑gas equipment.
