Material Advantages & Limitations

Co50V2 delivers the highest saturation magnetic induction among mainstream commercial soft‑magnetic alloys. When used for equal‑power motor designs, it enables significant downsizing of component volume. For electromagnets of identical cross‑section, it generates much stronger suction force.

Benefiting from its extremely high Curie point, Co50V2 maintains stable magnetic performance under high‑temperature operating conditions where most other soft‑magnetic alloys are fully demagnetized. Its large magnetostriction coefficient makes it ideal for magnetostrictive transducers with high energy output and high conversion efficiency.

This alloy also has inherent limitations: low electrical resistivity makes it unsuitable for high‑frequency working scenarios. It is relatively costly, prone to oxidation, and exhibits poor machinability. Adding nickel or other alloying elements can effectively improve processing performance for specific projects.

Available Product Forms

ZYTC Alloy provides Co50V2 in bar, wire, strip, sheet and foil forms. Custom thickness, width, cut‑to‑length sizes and special modified grades with improved machinability are available upon request. All products follow strict vacuum melting processes with full test documentation and material traceability.

Applications

Light‑weight, compact aerospace and aviation electrical components are its core application fields:
  • Micro‑motor rotors and magnetic pole heads
  • Relay magnetic cores
  • Magnetostrictive transducers
  • Solenoid and electromagnetic device assemblies

As one category of soft‑magnetic alloys, Co50V2 features high permeability and low coercive force under weak magnetic fields. Such soft‑magnetic materials play vital roles in radio‑electronics, precision instrumentation, remote‑control and automatic‑control systems for energy conversion and signal processing.

All production batches from ZYTC Alloy pass strict quality inspection complying with relevant international and Chinese industry standards.
